How does GenBREW work?
Pick a brewing method, choose how much water you want to use, and follow along. Each step appears after you check off the one before it, and finished steps keep a green check so you can see nothing was missed. Timers are built in for steps like the bloom and the French press steep.
Can I use GenBREW while I brew in my kitchen?
Yes. It is designed for a phone or tablet on the counter. On supported devices the screen stays on while you brew, and your progress is saved in your browser, so you can come back if the page reloads. If you check a step by mistake, uncheck it to go back.
Where do the steps and numbers come from?
They follow widely used specialty coffee guidelines, including the Specialty Coffee Association's brewing water standard and its 195 to 205°F temperature range, along with common brew-guide recipes for each method. Treat them as strong starting points and adjust to your taste.
