I remember driving home from the bank one morning after applying for a loan for our coffee business. The air was cool, fall had arrived, and the trees had turned orange and red while dark blues, purples, and greys created stunning contrasts illuminated beautifully by the rays of the morning sun behind the mountain range. Despite the beauty around us, we were worried. We had to dip into our own pockets to make our coffee brand a reality, and we desperately needed a financial boost. Unfortunately, our loan application was denied.

Despite the bad news, the mesmerizing drive home brought a smile to my face and reminded me that life is still great. I couldn't wait to get home and enjoy the best part of my day: drinking a cup of General Warfield's divinely aromatic single-origin Colombian coffee with my amazing wife while enjoying the beauty of nature.

This warm feeling was a reminder that there are more important things in life than money, cars, or loans. Often, amazing secrets are staring us in the face, unnoticed for years. All we have to do is let go of the chains that bind us and let life take us where it may.
